What happens after you download

1

Run the installer

Double-click the downloaded file and follow the steps. If Windows SmartScreen shows a message, choose More info then Run anyway.

2

Add a camera

Open the app and add an RTSP or ONVIF IP camera, a webcam, or a video file. One click can scan your network for ONVIF cameras.

3

Start scanning

Pick Text OCR or License Plates, draw a scan box over the gate or sign, and press Start. The trial begins on first use.

Windows may show a warning

Because VisuDock Live OCR is new software, Windows SmartScreen may say it "protected your PC". Choose More info, then Run anyway. The installer is downloaded directly from visudock.com. If you run into trouble, see the FAQ or contact support.

System requirements

  • Operating system: Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM recommended (4 GB minimum for one camera).
  • Processor: a modern multi-core CPU. Recognition runs on the CPU, so a faster processor gives more frames per second.
  • Disk space: about 1 GB for the app, plus room for saved photos and records.
  • Cameras: RTSP or ONVIF IP cameras and NVRs, a webcam, or an HLS / MJPEG stream. H.264 is recommended — H.265 / HEVC streams usually cannot be played.
  • Network: the PC must be able to reach the cameras. Internet is only needed for the licence check and for email or Telegram alerts. The app must reach the internet at least once every 48 hours to validate the licence - recognition itself keeps working offline, and scanning pauses only if validation has not happened for longer than that.

Before you install

Is the trial really free, and does it need a card?

Yes. The 30-day trial gives you every feature and needs no payment details. After it ends, scanning stops until you subscribe.

Windows showed a warning when I ran the installer. Is it safe?

Windows SmartScreen can warn about newer software that does not yet have a large download history. If you downloaded the file from visudock.com, choose More info and then Run anyway.

Does it need an internet connection?

Not for recognition - that runs fully on your own PC and keeps working on a private network. Internet is used for two things: validating your licence (at least once every 48 hours) and, if you enable them, email or Telegram alerts. If the app cannot validate for more than 48 hours, scanning pauses until it can reach the internet again. Your saved records always stay on your PC.

Is there a Mac or Linux version?

Not at the moment. VisuDock Live OCR is a Windows application.

Which plan should I choose after the trial?

Either $9 per month or $89 per year. The yearly plan saves $31. See pricing.
