Welcome to VisuDock! By accessing our website at visudock.com ("Site"), downloading or using the VisuDock Live OCR desktop application ("App"), or using our free browser tools (together, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not access or use our Services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using VisuDock, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that you have the authority to accept these Terms (including on behalf of a business, if you use the App for one), and that you comply with all applicable local, national, and international laws.

2. Who We Are and What We Provide

VisuDock is operated by VisuDock ("VisuDock", "we", "us").

• VisuDock Live OCR (desktop software): a Windows application that reads license plates and text from camera feeds on your own computer, keeps a local vehicle register, and can raise alerts. Recognition runs on your hardware.
• Free browser tools: image conversion, compression and editing utilities that run entirely inside your web browser.

3. Free Trial, License and Subscriptions

• Free trial: the App includes a 30-day free trial that starts on first use. No payment details are needed to start the trial.
• Subscription: after the trial, continued use of the App's monitoring features requires a paid monthly or yearly subscription. The trial and subscription are checked by the App contacting our license service, which receives only a hashed device identifier, the App version and your license status (see our Privacy Policy).
• Periodic validation and internet connection: the App must reach our license service over the internet at least once every 48 hours to validate the licence. Recognition itself runs locally and continues to work offline within that window. If the App cannot validate the licence for longer than 48 hours, scanning stops until it can reach the internet again. Your locally stored records remain on your computer and can still be exported. If you need to operate for longer periods without internet access, contact us to discuss your requirements.
• License: subject to these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on the computer(s) covered by your license, for your own internal use. You may not sell, rent, sub-license or share your license.
• When a trial or subscription ends: the App's monitoring features stop working. Your locally stored records remain on your computer and can still be exported.

4. Payments, Billing and Merchant of Record

• Merchant of Record: our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Your purchase is also subject to the Paddle Checkout Buyer Terms.
• Automatic renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel through the link in your Paddle receipt email, or by contacting us.
• Prices and taxes: the price shown at checkout applies, and applicable sales taxes or VAT are calculated and collected by Paddle.
• Refunds: see our Refund Policy.

5. Acceptable Use and Lawful Surveillance

The App is designed for lawful use on private property and at authorized checkpoints under your operational control. You are solely responsible for how you use it. You agree that:

• All cameras you connect are pointed strictly at private property, residential driveways or gates, or authorized industrial or commercial checkpoints under your control.
• You will not harvest, track, or log license plates or other data of general public traffic on public streets, municipal roads, or neighboring properties without statutory or consensual authority.
• You will comply with all laws that apply to video surveillance, license plate recognition, data protection and privacy where you operate, including any requirements for notices or signage, consent and data retention.
• You will not use the Services for unlawful, abusive, stalking or harmful purposes.
• You will not reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App, bypass or interfere with its license checks, or share or resell your license.
• You will not use automated scraping, bots, or excessive automated requests that overburden our Site or services.

We may suspend or terminate access for any use that violates these Terms.

6. Your Data and Intellectual Property

• Your content: the camera video, images, plate records, scanned text and other data the App handles are stored on your own computer. We do not receive or have access to them, you remain the owner and the party responsible for them, and you are responsible for keeping your own backups.
• Our content: the VisuDock brand, logo, software, layout, and original interface designs are protected by copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, duplicate, or re-distribute our proprietary assets without prior written authorization.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. The recognition of plates and text depends on camera quality, position, lighting and many other factors, and results may be missed, late, false or inaccurate. We do not guarantee that the App will detect every plate, text or event, that it will work without interruption or errors, or that it will be suitable for your particular purpose. Do not rely on VisuDock as your only security or safety system.

8. No Responsibility for Malfunction or Loss; Limitation of Liability

The software developer is not responsible if the App does not work properly, stops working, is interrupted, or gives missed, late, false or inaccurate results. To the maximum extent permitted by law, VisuDock and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss or corruption of data, records, photos or settings, or loss of business, revenue, profits, property or security, arising out of or related to your use or inability to use the Services. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the amount you paid for the Services in the 12 months before the claim arose.

9. Modifications to the Service and Terms

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our Services, or to update these Terms, at any time. Changes to the Terms will take effect upon posting to this page with an updated date. The App also asks you to accept its terms each time it starts.
