Privacy Policy
Last Updated: October 3, 2026
At VisuDock, accessible from visudock.com, protecting privacy is one of our top priorities. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, use our free browser tools, or use the VisuDock Live OCR desktop application ("App"), and how we use it. VisuDock is operated by VisuDock.
1. Local Processing (Your Data Stays on Your Computer)
VisuDock Live OCR is designed so that your camera data never needs to leave your computer:
- No Video or Image Uploads: camera video, pictures and the text and plates read from them are processed locally on your own computer.
- No Logs Sent to Us: the vehicle register, saved scanned text, incident logs, evidence clips and your settings are stored in folders on your computer (by default in
Documents\VisuDock). We have no access to them. - Browser Tools: when you convert, compress or edit images with our free browser tools, the images are processed locally in your browser and are not uploaded to our servers.
2. Information We Collect
Although we do not collect your camera data or files, we may collect minimal data under the following circumstances:
- License and Trial Data (App): to run the free trial and subscriptions, the App contacts our license service periodically - at least once every 48 hours while it is running, and when it starts. It sends a hashed identifier of your computer, the App version, and your trial or subscription status. It does not send camera video, images, plate numbers or scanned text.
- Purchase and Subscription Data: payments are handled by Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, which collects your payment and billing details. We receive limited information such as your email address, country, plan, subscription status and order or transaction IDs. We never receive your full card number.
- Alerts You Choose to Enable: if you turn on email or Telegram alerts, the App sends alert messages (for example the matched plate or keyword, the camera name and the time) from your computer to Gmail or Telegram using your own account details. Those details are stored on your computer, not with us, and the privacy policies of those services apply.
- Analytics & Usage Data: we may use basic web analytics tools to collect anonymized usage data (e.g., browser type, page views, and time spent on site) to help us improve site performance.
- Support Communications: if you contact us via email (hello@visudock.com), we collect your email address and any information provided in your message to fulfill your support request.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
Our website uses local browser storage (localStorage) to save non-sensitive preferences for the browser tools. We do not use persistent tracking cookies to sell personal data to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party providers for essential features:
- Payment Processing: orders, payments, taxes, invoices and refunds are processed by Paddle.com as Merchant of Record, under Paddle's own privacy notice.
- Hosting Infrastructure: our website, software downloads and license service are delivered through the Cloudflare network.
- Gmail and Telegram: used only if you enable email or Telegram alerts in the App, with your own accounts.
5. Your Responsibilities as a Camera Operator
You decide which cameras you connect and what the App records. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to video surveillance and license plate recognition where you operate, including notices or signage, consent, retention and data protection. We do not have access to your footage or records and do not act as the controller of that data. Our Terms of Service limit the App to private property and authorized checkpoints.
6. Data Retention
- On your computer: App data stays on your computer until you delete it. The vehicle register records and photos, and saved scanned text files, are deleted automatically after the number of days you choose in the App (up to 30 days).
- License and purchase records: kept while your subscription is active and afterwards as long as needed for legal, tax and accounting purposes.
- Support emails: kept as long as needed to help you and to keep a record of the request.
7. Security
We implement standard web security protocols (including HTTPS encryption) to protect your browsing session and license checks. Because recognition takes place on your own computer, the risk of a breach of your camera data on our side is minimal. You remain responsible for securing your own computer, cameras and passwords.
8. Your Data Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to request access, correction, or deletion of the license, purchase and support records we maintain about you. Contact us at the email below to make a request.
9. Children
Our Services are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. Updated policies will be posted directly on this page with an updated date.
